Mr. Cee Resigning

In a tearful interview on Hot 97, DJ Mister Cee admitted that he has had oral sex with transgender men, and solicited transgender prostitutes in the past, but hasn’t since his arrest in May.

On Sept. 11, an audio clip surfaced from popular male blogger, Bimbo Winehouse, where a voice was heard that was allegedly DJ Mister Cee, soliciting sex from him, agreeing to pay $100 for sex. The famed DJ announced his resignation that day — however, he came back on air on Sept. 12 for a new interview.

Is Mr. Cee Resigning From Hot 97 After Prostitution Scandal?

In May 2013, Mister Cee, whose full name is Calvin LeBrun was arrested for soliciting a prostitute, and admitted on Hot 97 he had “an addiction…to prostitution.”

On the 11th, Mister Cee said on air that the video surfaced is from a year ago, and later in the segment announced he was retiring. Shortly after, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Hot 97, Alexandra Cameron released the following statement:

Due to some personal circumstances that have become public, after 20 years of service, Mister Cee has chosen to resign. We feel that this is in the best interest of both HOT 97 and Cee’s personal well-being. While we do not endorse the alleged activities, he is clearly facing a personal dilemma that is for him and only him to comment on. We are saddened by his departure; his contributions here at HOT 97 were great and we know him as a friend, a caring individual and significant hip hop advocate. We wish Mr Cee the best and will always consider him a family member of HOT 97. Moments ago, he officially signed off, on the air and will finish out his last show today on September 11, 2013, an already sad day for New York City.

Mister Cee took to twitter, writing: “I announced my resignation today from the job I loved to do at Hot 97 , please understand I never intended to let NY/NJ/CT all my fans down.”

GAN BOARDWALK FIRE 091213 1

SEASIDE PARK, N.J. — A fire that started at a New Jersey frozen custard shop in Seaside Park, N.J., and spread to other boardwalk businesses, including FunTown Pier, has now reached Seaside Heights, N.J., police said.

Emergency personnel arrived at the boardwalk in Seaside Park for a report of smoke about 2:30 p.m. A plume of gray smoke stretches as far north as Ortley Beach, N.J., as fire crews fight to douse the blaze. The cause of the fire is still unclear.

The fire that started at Kohr's Frozen Custard quickly compromised buildings on the west side, including what was left of FunTown Pier — the site of the roller coaster that was pushed into the ocean during Superstorm Sandy. A strong wind has worsened the firefighters' attempts, Police Chief Francis Larkin said.

Part of the FunTown Pier building has collapsed.

Seaside Heights firefighters will use construction equipment to remove sections of the town's newly rebuilt boardwalk in hopes of stopping the advance of the blaze, borough administrator John Camera said.

Miss Kansas Sgt. Theresa Vail showed off something different and a lot more permanent to the Tuesday preliminary swimsuit round of the Miss Americacompetition. She was the first contestant to expose her tattoos during the competition, according to People.

“Why am I choosing to bear my tattoos?” Vail told the magazine. “My whole platform is empowering women to overcome stereotypes and break barriers. What a hypocrite I would be if I covered my ink. How can I tell other women to be fearless and true to themselves if I can’t do the same? I am who I am, tattoos and all.”

Her tattoos of the U.S. Army Dental Corps on her left shoulder and the Serenity Prayer on her right side were clearly visible as she hit the stage in a red bikini.

Vail is also only the second member of the military to compete for the crown. She joined the Kansas National guard at 17 and is an expert M16 marksman. She also hunts, skydives, boxes and used to ride a motorcycle. Something she had to quit after breaking all over fingers on her right hand.

Bill de Blasio celebrates with his family

Bill de Blasio, the unabashed progressive who lit up the New Yorkmayoral campaign, faced a nervous wait to find out whether he would be the Democratic candidate on Wednesday as he hovered around the 40% needed to win the nomination outright.

A pledge by second-placed Bill Thompson to wait for the official totals mean it could be days before De Blasio finds out if he will run against Joe Lhota, who secured the Republican nomination.

But while the precise result may still be in the balance but the message from New York Democrats could not be more clear. The battle to succeed Michael Bloomberg as the next mayor of the biggest city in theUnited States will be an ideological fight led by a candidate determined to distance himself as far as possible from the billionaire incumbent.

Christine Quinn, the city council leader and Bloomberg ally who started the race as frontrunner, bowed out in a dismal third place with only 15% of the vote, her hopes to break ground as the first woman and first gay mayor dashed.

The final result will not be known until next week at the earliest: New York's 1960s lever-pull voting machines will not be opened until Friday, and 19,000 paper ballots not due to be counted until Monday. If the result is still close – and New York's Board of Elections is notoriously inefficient – Thompson could demand a recount. He declined to concede the race on Wednesday, vowing to wait until the official result.

Thompson told supporters on Tuesday night that he would wait for the official count instead of conceding defeat. "We took Mike Bloomberg on and we almost beat him. Now we're gonna finish what we started," said Thompson, who was the Democratic nominee in 2009 but lost to the incumbent billionaire.

"Every voice in New York City counts and we're gonna wait for every voice to be heard. We're gonna wait for every vote to be counted. So my friends this is far from over."

According to tallies collated by WNYC radio, Thompson had 26.10% of the vote on Wednesday morning, with Quinn in third place on 15.47%. Anthony Weiner, who had also looked strong earlier in the campaign, suffered the ignominy of a fifth-place finish with just 4.91% of the vote. After a tear-filled concession speech, in which his wife Huma Abedin was notable by her absence, Weiner made an inglorious exit: a picture showed him giving a one-fingered gesture of insult to reporters as he was driven away.

Anthony Weiner's ill-fated mayoral campaign ended with a a final embarrassment when his sexting partner Sydney Leathers tried to crash his primary night rally.

Outside a "victory" party where supporters mourned a disappointing fifth-place finish in the Democratic primary, cameras crowded around Leathers, the 23-year-old whose sexting with the former congressman brought his once-high-flying campaign to a screeching halt.

"Why not be here?" Leathers asked reporters. "I'm kind of the reason he's losing. So, might as well show up."

Leathers, who has launched a porn career since the scandal broke, said Weiner needed "to stop being an embarrassment to the city of New York. He's going to continue this behavior. If it's not going to be me, it's going to be some other girl."
