In a tearful interview on Hot 97, DJ Mister Cee admitted that he has had oral sex with transgender men, and solicited transgender prostitutes in the past, but hasn’t since his arrest in May.
On Sept. 11, an audio clip surfaced from popular male blogger, Bimbo Winehouse, where a voice was heard that was allegedly DJ Mister Cee, soliciting sex from him, agreeing to pay $100 for sex. The famed DJ announced his resignation that day — however, he came back on air on Sept. 12 for a new interview.
Is Mr. Cee Resigning From Hot 97 After Prostitution Scandal?
In May 2013, Mister Cee, whose full name is Calvin LeBrun was arrested for soliciting a prostitute, and admitted on Hot 97 he had “an addiction…to prostitution.”
On the 11th, Mister Cee said on air that the video surfaced is from a year ago, and later in the segment announced he was retiring. Shortly after, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Hot 97, Alexandra Cameron released the following statement:
Due to some personal circumstances that have become public, after 20 years of service, Mister Cee has chosen to resign. We feel that this is in the best interest of both HOT 97 and Cee’s personal well-being. While we do not endorse the alleged activities, he is clearly facing a personal dilemma that is for him and only him to comment on. We are saddened by his departure; his contributions here at HOT 97 were great and we know him as a friend, a caring individual and significant hip hop advocate. We wish Mr Cee the best and will always consider him a family member of HOT 97. Moments ago, he officially signed off, on the air and will finish out his last show today on September 11, 2013, an already sad day for New York City.
Mister Cee took to twitter, writing: “I announced my resignation today from the job I loved to do at Hot 97 , please understand I never intended to let NY/NJ/CT all my fans down.”
